Looks like this is going nowhere; "quitting time", I think. "Putamen" is either a structure -- subcortical nucleus -- located at the base of the forebrain; or, a stone in a fruit, such as a peach.

It was while I was still at school because I remember someone telling me they’d been. So perhaps 1984.

No idea where, presumably London is the QI klaxon answer so I’ll say Birmingham

Not too sure but remembering a certain lady, Lorraine Chase, singing a song about Luton Airport, possibly in the 1980s, I will venture Luton and 1985.
Is the correct answer. I had pizza the other night and thought this would be a good question.

Did she waft in from paradise? :D (Only people of a certain age would understand)

If I may…..

After the first four games of this season, the Denver Broncos had won two games and lost two. However, they never trailed at any point in the final quarter of any of the games, and none of them went to overtime.

What happened?

Match abandoned so they took the result at the end of the third quarter?

I watched a game on Sky when the Broncos lost to a field goal that was the last kick of the game......so I'm guessing they lost twice when the clock was already down to 0:00

Is the right answer. In both of the games they lost, they went behind to a field goal scored on the last play of the match, and with the game clock at 0:00 as the ball went between the posts.

Your turn to kick off the next question

Ah, my sports channel zapping came in handy! The game I watched, the kick was missed initially but there was a penalty on the play so it was moved forward and the guy kicked the goal the 2nd time. I don't know much about the teams and the players but I quite enjoy watching it.

A very easy one, and staying on a sports theme, which international footballer was the surprise golf buggy driver for a European Ryder cup vice captain last week at Beth Page, New York state?
And for a bonus point, which of Luke Donald's vice captains was he driving around the course?

As it's been nearly a week, the answer was Gianfranco Zola, who was driving Eduardo Molinari's buggy round the course.

John Glenn?

EDIT: I've remembered who it is, and it's not John Glenn, but I'm not setting another question, so I'll not answer.
But he has the same name as someone shot in 1922...... ;)
