Nope, not the answer i am looking for.Pen-y-ghent is a Yorkshire hill, Guy (Fawkes) was born in York. They're both Tykes.
If you give the correct answer i will accept as i am about to go on holiday and wont be able to check answers from after tuesdayOn a hunch, I did a bit of looking-up -- expressed generally: atlas-wise (dead-tree variety -- Internet not involved). I have thence, an idea; but perhaps doing what I did, ranks as cheating...
That is correct, they are, i believe the only 2 settlements which end in -zance within the UK.A matter of two settlements at opposite ends of England: 8-letter names, both ending in the same five letters, but commencing with "Guy" and "Pen" respectively: Guyzance, Northumberland (small village a little way west of Amble); and Penzance, Cornwall. If correct: open floor, please.

Well it transpires there are actually two batsmen.Well after him.
Facetiousness, not an answer, here -- my interest in, and knowledge of, anything sport-related: is pretty much zero -- with that, and with my considerable tendency initially to misread things; my initial reaction to the above sentence in your question was, "surely Pakistan didn't exist 237 years ago -- actually, is that also true of cricket?" Then I did become aware of what you were actually saying ...Mohammed Yousuf of Pakistan holds tge record for most test runs in a calendar year with 1788.
You wouldn't want me opening the batting, I only batted at number 11 for the school because there aren't more in the team. It was generally regarded that whatever score we were for 9 when I went to the crease would very shortly be the same score all out.
Staying with cricket.
Mohammed Yousuf of Pakistan holds tge record for most test runs in a calendar year with 1788. Who, with 1710 runs, is second on the list?
I think most of us have fallen for the 'maybe read the question properly' problem, the chemistry part if my A level Physical Science exam springs to mind.Facetiousness, not an answer, here -- my interest in, and knowledge of, anything sport-related: is pretty much zero -- with that, and with my considerable tendency initially to misread things; my initial reaction to the above sentence in your question was, "surely Pakistan didn't exist 237 years ago -- actually, is that also true of cricket?"
