Well I've done a bit of research on Alice and all the articles refer to her as the "first x". However officially "x" didn't start until 1951. It would appear the "competition" she won eventually morphed into "x".

Yes, played for Hampshire, but didn't play at international level.

He has also had a varied career post-cricket:

After retiring from cricket, Connor returned to Anguilla. He was Anguilla's 'chef de mission' (team manager) at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Connor currently works as a hotel masseur and a fitness coach, with a website calling him "the island's most popular personal trainer".
