It was indeed. Wings was the first oscar winner in 1929 but a silent film; AQotWF was the winner in 1930.

Ok, continuing the machines of war thread...

...what has been fitted to all British fighting vehicles since the 1940's and is considered, by the crews, as the singularly most important piece of equipment on board, despite the operation of which being entrusted to the most junior member of the crew, and which if declared u/s will take the vehicle out of service?
