Correct. It came up in a bar quiz last night with loads of local beers in Dalton GA. I answered St Helena - but it was wrong - that was 1815. But the correct answer was indeed Elba which I was shocked at and it cost my team 3rd place.

Thank-you and a very good morning to you in Dalton.

Which is the longest 2-digit A road in this country ?

For a show of brilliance, roughly how long is it (miles please, I can't handle that km stuff) and from which two towns does it start and finish (either direction) ?

A30 Lands End to London - 250ish?
Not that one.

I’ll have a guess at the A38. Somewhere in Cornwall to somewhere near Derby. 175 miles ish
A38 is correct. It does meander a bit, you will need more fuel for your journey.

I would say the A38 also but it goes from Bodmin (Cornwall) to Mansfield (Nottinghamshire) at ≈305 miles ish...
All correct there, mileage is actually 292.

@SteveM70 got the main question correct first but I will leave you two to sort things out.

Their songs have all been recorded as cover versions by the same artist.

Well done @MotCO it is Steps.

Steps have covered "Better The Devil You Know" by Kylie Minogue, "Tragedy" by the Bee Gees, "Last Thing On My Mind" by Bananarama, "Deeper Shade of Blue" by Tina Cousins and they've all recently been remixed by Matt Pop.

So in 5, 6, 7, 8, its over to you.

Continuing the Steps theme, Richard Hanney first appeared in The Thirty Nine Steps. What was the next book he appeared in?

The Khunjerab Pass (4,693 metres) is the highest-paved international border crossing in the world and the highest point on the Karakoram Highway which links Pakistan and China. What rather surprising feature of normal everyday life can be found there?
