OK. A sporting question from me.
Making his international debut against Scotland at Pittodrie he later went on to captain England 7 times, drawing one and winning six.
Who was he?

Would this be a non-football question? I don't think England have played a full international at Pittodrie (though I'm sure they've played there for the non-full team). I know Scotland have played rugby union at the ground. Maybe cricket - though the size of the outfield might pose a problem.

A complete non-answer there.

The game at Pittodrie was football.

Is this a trick question?

If we are talking about football, I can't think of any Scotland v England full internationals at Pittodrie (home of Aberdeen FC), as @perryman has also queried.

So is the international "debut", as referenced in the question, maybe a fixture played at u18 or u23 level, or similar?

Instead of wild guesses, can we narrow it down a bit? Was this match at Pittodrie before 1939?
