The two yet to be guessed who’ve won it twice are the same nationality, and one of them has also managed his country

The non-European who hasn’t yet been guessed is African, still playing in the premier league, and one of only two from his country currently playing in the premier league

Respectfully, I will voice some dissent: while concurring that the "umpteen different bits" scene gets wearisome -- I feel that enforcedly only-ever-a-single-answer-to-a-single-question, would be far too rigorous and restrictive.

I think it would just be a matter of being reasonable when it comes to multiple answers. For example the capitals of South Africa would be reasonable, the capital of each province would not.

I agree to some extent. I think that it is reasonable to ask a single question with several answers such as the current question (if you remember it is about football ), but not to ask 20 questions on a similar theme with 20 different answers (although I do admit to being guilty!). I think it is also rasonable to ask one question in two parts, my reason being that some questions can be quite specialised, and may only be answerable by a few people; having a couple of questions does help open out the question to others.

But this question has 9 answers, 7 have been got, two people got 3, no one can beat those people and now we are sitting waiting for someone to maybe get those last two then we'll go back to declaring one of the people who got 3 answers set the next question. That's where it's gets excessive.

That might be the solution but I can see that just leaving questions unanswered for ages.

When I set questions that are unanswered for about a day I give hints, if it goes on longer I give the answer and declare "open floor".

This quiz which we engage in is meant to be fun, rather than rules-and-regulations-bound in a way bearing a bit of a resemblance to Army basic training.
