I believe its Bush (GW), Clinton & Trump born in 1946.

It is indeed. There are three sets of two presidents sharing a birth year, but only one threesome:
  • Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson (1767)
  • Ulysses S Grant and Rutherford B Hayes (1822)
  • Nixon and Ford (1913)

Please present your inaugral speech.

The 22nd and 24th presidents also share a birth year. Indeed, they have the same birthday.

Grover Cleveland and, er, Grover Cleveland.

There was a Marmaduke Hussey who was a Chairman or Governor General of the BBC - I don't know if he was known as Mark.

My wife has a tenuous family connection with a Peter Thornley, who happens to have an alter ego - some would say sporting, others (myself included) would say amateur dramatics at best - that suggests he comes from a lot further east than where he lives, just down the from me in the Peak District, in Cheadle...

I don't recognise any of the other names - if I'm on the right track with the above - so I won't be so churlish as to steal anyone's thunder by saying any more.

Your wife sir would be spot on with her family connection, he does have an alter ego involving a mask and a sword.

The myriad of clues would lead me to think Peter Thornley would be Kendo Nagasaki.

No idea with the rest but I’ll take a guess that one of the remaining three is Johnny Quango. Not convinced the surname is spelt as it should be.

You are correct with Kendo Nagasaki but wrong with Johnny Quango.

As nobody has come back with the names of the other wrestlers, I will reveal the answers,

Michael Matthews - Mick McManus

Mark Hussey - Rollerball Rocco

Thomas Billington - The Dynamite Kid.

As @DaleCooper & @perryman both got part of the question correct - its a tie - 1 fall each.

I will ask that they choose who asks the next question.

The Royal Navy has had a number of ships called “Ark Royal”.

Ark Royal R09 was an aircraft carrier, decommissioned in 1979 and scrapped the following year, but where?

To continue the nautical theme:

What in World War II was a CAM ship?
Where they WWII merchant ships equipped with a catapult to launch a fighter aircraft on a one way mission to attack enemy aircraft?

Catapult something Merchantmen.

The pilot had to ditch the plane afterwards, invariably with fatal consequences.

I remember reading something years ago about them being developed to counter the focke wulf condor German long range reconnaissance aircraft that used to find the convoys mid Atlantic and then circle the convoy, unmolested, broadcasting their position and heading and speed so the u boat wolf packs could find them.
