I should maybe have been more specific -- had been thinking of archaic paganism, area never previously Christian, against Abrahamic religions. Christianity versus Islam, the latter via the Turks, was not in mind -- the Balkans had been Christian, before J. Turk Esq. appeared on the scene and messed things up.
