As there have been no further guesses to the quiz, Whats the year ?

I can reveal the two missing answers :

Panorama was 1st aired on the BBC in 1953.

John Noakes left Blue Peter in 1978 after 12 years on the show.

We have a three way tie with 1 correct answer each are @Gloster , @Loppylugs & @MotCO .

Tie Breaker Question :

In what year was BBC 2 launched please ?

1964. I remember that those houses with BBC2 had distinctive rooftop aerials in our district (we lived in Billericay then). Some of the other kids and I would nip along to a girl's house who had BBC2 to watch Play School as I dimly recall.

Thank you.

It is well known that the Japanese city of Nagasaki was the target of the second atom bomb attack on Japan in August 1945 (Hiroshima already having been largely destroyed three days before). Nagasaki was not the primary target that day, though, and was only chosen as a secondary target due to the weather being cloudy over the city marked for destruction. What is the name of that city?
