Must have been on the trading estate just outside of town. For anyone interested in bicycles of different shapes and sizes, there is a marvellous collection in Snowshill Manor in Broadway, Gloucestershire. National Trust property.

I'm sorry but when did it become acceptable to ask multiple questions when taking the floor?
Seems to me like an excuse to hog the floor :s
Where is the line? Name the first hundred clubs to win the FA cup?

Seems to be customary, oftentimes there are questions about the likes of 'ten fictional tv detectives' I have never heard of. I only set six related questions.

@xotGD near enough, he was in parliament until 1990 and 1998 - 2002. "Drugs? Our drug was the adulation of our fans!" he said.

@MotCO Merckx only rode seven times! The author covered the race as a journalist, he followed his nineteenth TdF on a cycle.

Continuing with the cycling theme seeing as the Tour de France finished last weekend - what do these French words mean specifically in the context of a bike race (ie not necessarily the literal translation):

1 - échappé

2 - parcours

3 - crevaison

4 - hors categorie

5 - lanterne rouge

6 - rouleur

7 - grimpeur

8 - chasse patate

9 - baroudeur

10 - flamme rouge

Knowing nothing about cycling, but having a reasonable command of French -- I'm going to guess, blindly and with some cheek: that #2, "parcours", means distance travelled -- per day, or whatever; and #3, "crevaison": means a tyre bursting.

5) "Lantern rouge" is the back marker, the last placed competitor still in the race. So named after the red lamp on the back of a (long) railway train.

10) "Flamme rouge" is the 1 km to go the finishing line marker (flag).

3 - correct, its a puncture

4 - basically yes. Climbs were originally categorised 1 to 3, then they added in some really brutal climbs that were more difficult than category 1, literally “beyond categorisation”

9 barouder sounds like a sort of rider, could it be one who helps others up hill, or attacks to divert attention or for five minutes of fame?
