Rotherwood isn't fictional, it's near Sheffield. ;)

Bishops Tippings is, I think the place where poor folk put peas into pods, so that the gentry can take them out again. CuZn (Brass)

Mrs. L took her time but informs me that Abercorran is really Laugharne near Carmarthen, and the programme is Keeping Faith. Lovely castle which we visited a couple of years ago.

I realise that this advances the game not at all; but if I have things rightly, Dylan Thomas's Llareggub, item 19 (slightly rude reverse-spelling) in Under Milk Wood, is also a fictionalised version of Laugharne -- said village, greatly loved by Thomas.

It probably also drew elements, including topography, from New Quay (the one on Cardigan Bay), where Thomas had spent a short period.

Time for an update on the fictional villages quiz and a clue to those not found yet :

11/ Tarrant - Clue : A TV series set in the South which lasted for 5 years.

12/ Rotherwood - Clue : A Book with the lead character played a well known late lamented actor.

16/ Bishops Tippings - Clue : A TV series set in the North - started on ITV in the 80's before moving to Channel 4 in the 90's.

18/ Chillingbourne - Clue : A Book that was written between 1387 & 1400.

Keeping with places, although this time real ones, there are five cathedral towns in England and one in Wales. What are they? For clarity, a cathedral town must be Anglican; other denominations do not count.

At a venture -- Southwell, Nottinghamshire? -- don't think I've ever heard that one called a "city".
