No -- Ireland has the common lizard. I wasn't looking for reptiles (whittling things down bit by bit !)

Are they types of parakeet that have previously escaped into the wild but are now considered native? If so I believe Green Parakeets, Ringnecked Parakeet and one other?

Birds are the class of vertebrate I'm thinking of (not mentioned until your post, save in @Strat-tastic 's flight of fancy): but the sort in my mind, are less exotic -- truly wild, and have been so in GB from time immemorial.

Is it woodpeckers? Great spotted, lesser spotted and green.

Woodpeckers it is: three species, as you enumerate -- all found in Great Britain; but Ireland's fauna does not include woodpeckers.

Keeping with the football theme, what’s fourth in this sequence:

2016 Leicester City
1978 Nottingham Forest
1972 Derby County

These might be football teams that have won the English top division just the once, so maybe 1962 Ipswich Town.

I wouldn't have known this if I hadn't done an online pub quiz the other day,

Harry Jackson was the 1st person to be convicted by the use of fingerprints.
