I do have a question (amazing how the box of memories opens after a few jars...)

At the time when "Box of Delights" was being screened, my dad was posted to the Falkland Islands. Although it was after the conflict, the second leg of his southbound journey had to be by sea because the original airfield wasn't suitable for large aircraft. What's the name of the new base that was constructed to replace Stanley Airfield?

Do you mean Mount Pleasant? There is also Ascension Island in the Atlantic.

The floor is yours, Mr Fowler My dad was flown to Ascension for the first leg, but had to go by ship to the Falklands because at the time there was nowhere suitable to land.

RAF Mount Pleasant was later built.

I can't answer that question, but I have one of my own! I can see three carriers, but whilst the two on Pier 14 are large carriers, the other one on Pier 10 is much smaller..... or am I missing something?

The Gerald R Ford is in the Newport News shipyard just over the way. It isn't actually docked at the naval base. Look left to the other side of the bay.

I didn't see the Gerald Ford but I found the one below and guessed that it was CVN-75 as the number is partly obscured.
