Thats it. The three toed (three fingered actually) sloth has 9 neck vertebrae one more than any other mammal- even a giraffe has only 7.

It allows them to rotate their head more than 180 degrees rather like an owl which as they spend most of their life hanging upside down is handy.

European aircraft manufactures are well know for banding together to compete with the big boys in the US. One company shows up again and again in the multinational aircraft projects. Which one?

No, it's a pure aerospace company rather than components. As far as I can see its been involved in pretty much every co-operative European aircraft project.

British Aerospace, in its varying forms have been involved in a fair old few. 4 that come to mind are , Sepecat Jaguar , Panavia Tornado , Eurofighter Typhoon , and of course Concorde.

Test Pilot Roland 'Roly' Falk, was notable in a lot of respects, however one thing sticks out, what could it be?

There are several reported cases of Spitfires getting very close to the sound barrier. Flt Lt Edward Powels getting closest with mach 0.96 in 1952. However Roly is not part of this rather exclusive club.

I had to look it up to be sure of my facts but Peter Falk's Father was named Micheal.

I'm not sure if that was Roly, if it was it's not quite what I'm looking for.

No that was Flt Lt Alan Pollock. He gives an excellent account of that particular incident in "Out of the Blue" available on Kindle.
