4034 Challenger 2?
Is this referring to the Comet airliner or the astronomical Comet?
Neither, as DaleCooper had correctly identified it was referring to the WW2 Comet cruiser tank.
Someone sneezed in the space suit.
Shplat!
I was going to go for Alan Shepard's round of golf on the moon but that was 1971. So the next best thing is despite NASA's best efforts the crew of Apollo 12 managed to deposit a small piece of art on the moon.
Well having a further look at Moon landings in 1969 it seems there were three landings, Apollo 11, 12 and Luna 15.
It looks like Luna 15 and Apollo 11 were briefly on the moon together. So maybe that.
Is this something really dull like Neil Armstrong said the wrong line or that Buzz Aldrin was meant to come out first.
Did he write his name in the dust?
One of them refused to take photos of the other didn't he?
Aldrin took communion on the moon?
Although I shall take the floor I feel like pointing out once again your facts are not entirely correct. While the Mass was indeed conducted in secret it wasn't unplanned, Aldrin was allowed to do it but asked to keep it private as NASA was in a legal fight (America!) over astronauts and religion. He received permission from Deke Slayton to do it before they even left Earth as long as it was done in radio silence. For a change please check your facts...
Anyway.
What connects a town in Pennsylvania, a mountain in Australia and a gorge in the Saarland in Germany?
It was not in the Mission TimeLine - therefore, it was unplanned... I know as I have a replica of the mission timeline sold at Woolies years ago
Buzz Aldrin said:I met with Deke Slayton, one of the original "Mercury Seven" astronauts who ran our flight-crew operations, to inform him of my plans and that I intended to tell the world what I was doing. Deke said, "No, that's not a good idea, Buzz. Go ahead and have communion, but keep your comments more general." I understood that Deke didn't want any more trouble.
I see your poster from Woolies and raise you Buzz Aldrin himself...
