Is it connected with ships of the Royal Navy?

There have been destroyers with the name HMS Fife, Newcastle and Leeds, and a Frigate with the name HMS Portland, so the latter would be the odd one out.

Alternatively, HMS Leeds was an ex-US Navy Destroyer (USS Conner) given to the RN in 1940 as part of the Lend Lease Programme. That would be another odd one out - the only one not built for the Royal Navy.

Even more alternatively, HMS Portland is the only one of the four ships to still be in service ... !

Those weren't the answers that I had in mind but as there is a sort of royal connection too with the answer I thought of then I think you should have the floor EbbwJunction1.

I had in mind Dukedoms and more specifically non-royal Dukes (i.e. Dukes that are not also members of the Royal Family).

In this case the odd on out is Fife as it is the only non-royal Dukedom from the list that is still extant. The other three died out as the were no further heirs, the most recent being Portland in 1990. Also Fife was the most recent non-royal Dukedom to be created , in 1900.

Quite a few of the LNER B17 Class locomotives were named after football clubs. Four of them were renamed (one twice); who were the "unlucky" clubs?

If it's not the answer you had in mind then I will concede the floor to someone who gives the answer you had in mind. However I took public to mean a call made in public. Which Parliament Square is. I now see that you were after the first call made by the public. Which is another thing entirely.
