There are a couple there that are married to the wrong games. As far as I remember in the top down GTA games (I,II and London) the name of the protagonist is not revealed.

This is closer but still not quite right. You have Victor and Toni in the right cities, but not the right games. It's worth remembering that there were 2 GTA games that recycled the maps from previous games, but used a totally different storyline and protagonist. That's your first clue. Your second is that the challenge was to put them in order of First Appearance in the story.

I knew it was Lance Vance, not Victor, who was in Vice City.

How about...

Claude (III)
Toni Cipriani (Liberty City Stories)
Tommy Vercetti (Vice City)
Victor Vance (Vice City Stories)
Carl Johnson (San Andreas)
Niko Bellic (IV)
Johnny Klebitz (The Lost and the Damned)

I accept this answer. I have to admit to being a bit naughty including Johnny and Lewis, as it depends on which of the Episodes from Liberty City you played first, as to which appears first. I'm also impessed that the three protagonists of the GTA V storyline are in the correct order of when they become playable.

Apologies for taking so long to come back, I have been out all day helping a friend pick up his new car.

The floor is yours.

No worries.

In Denmark it's known as One of Us is the Killer. In Germany it was called Last Weekend. In Malaysia it's No One Survived in the End. In Portugal they call it Invitation to Death. In Brazil they know it as The Invisible Avenger, and in Thailand it's Murders On The Island.

What is it called in Britain?

Is it a bolo tie aglet?

At first I thought that was just nonsense or perhaps an anagram that had excaped from "Cryptic clues" but after googling it I can say "No, it isn't one of them", although I suppose it could be used as one.

Is it some bit of a bracelet?

Not a bit of a bracelet either, it is functional rather than decorative.

Is it something to do with an electric oven? It's not is it? I feel stupid even asking.

Not at all stupid, it is conceivable that this or something similar might have an application in an electric oven although it wouldn't have been my first thought.

A transistor probably in a heating system control

Transistor is the magic word. Actually an audio power transistor in a TO3 package, you would typically find four of them in a stereo amplifier but they have lots of other uses.

Your turn Marton...

Thank you.

Why and by whom are Policeman's Helmets subject to "bashing"?
