In response to some concerns that have been raised with us, may I take this opportunity to remind all that this quiz is supposed to be one that is inclusive to as many people as possible, this is not a specialist knowledge quiz!

If I were to refer back to the opening post:

The Quizmasters would also like people to make sure that questions are sensible and have a simple answer - so an answer like Italy or carrots or Mt Everest might be good, but a question like "What is the GDP of Egypt?" can only lead to headaches.

Please can we try to avoid questions which require specialist knowledge such as the Stargate/Star Wars examples we have seen of late and return to a bit more 'General Knowledge' based questions please?

If D6975 would wish to set a new question, he may do so in the next 24 hours else please consider this an open floor.

Any issues please don't hesitate to contact one of the QM Team.

It is also important to remember that what is "General Knowledge" to one person is arcane lore to another, indeed some questions that I have set required a certain amount of specialist knowledge be it mathematics, 1960s cars or the characters in "My Name is Earl", the important thing is variety.

Indeed, it is not our intention to add dramatic control the nature of the questions posed, but I don't wish to lose members who regularly participate because they feel that the questions being posed are no longer open to them. Hopefully everyone will be understanding of this

Close enough for the win - the plane was a 727 that was crashed in the Mexican desert as part of a survivability test with regards to braced/un-braced and where people sat on the plane. A dummy run was flown with a crew onboard with the test following the next day. The ATC guy said it was the first time he had ever not wished a plane a good flight... Incidentally, the test also, the moment the pilot cleared the aircraft via the rear steps, the test team took the record for largest remote controlled aircraft ever flown.
