It's about time this thread was renamed "The Star Trek/Star Wars/Stargate etc. Quiz", either that or someone should start a new thread dedicated to those subjects.

I was thinking the same. Over the last few questions I thought we had escaped that pit but no, we fell back over the edge again![]()
Please can we try to avoid questions which require specialist knowledge such as the Stargate/Star Wars examples we have seen of late and return to a bit more 'General Knowledge' based questions please? The Quizmasters would also like people to make sure that questions are sensible and have a simple answer - so an answer like Italy or carrots or Mt Everest might be good, but a question like "What is the GDP of Egypt?" can only lead to headaches.
A short while ago I thought this had become the Military History Quiz.
In response to some concerns that have been raised with us, may I take this opportunity to remind all that this quiz is supposed to be one that is inclusive to as many people as possible, this is not a specialist knowledge quiz!

Indeed, it is not our intention to add dramatic control the nature of the questions posed, but I don't wish to lose members who regularly participate because they feel that the questions being posed are no longer open to them. Hopefully everyone will be understanding of thisI wasn't objecting to the "Star Trek/Star Wars/Stargate etc." questions in themselves it was the frequency that concerned me. On that basis I think D6975's question should stand but let us try for a bit more variety in future. It is also important to remember that what is "General Knowledge" to one person is arcane lore to another, indeed some questions that I have set required a certain amount of specialist knowledge be it mathematics, 1960s cars or the characters in "My Name is Earl", the important thing is variety.
So how do we stand?
So how do we stand?
If D6975 would wish to set a new question, he may do so in the next 24 hours else please consider this an open floor.
In Stargate Universe, one character at one point claims to be a character from Futurama.
Name the two characters.
I shall answer the question - The Stargate universe character, Eli Wallace, went under the alias of Philip Fry
He did indeed, in order not to upset his mother when visiting Earth using the stones.
The floor is yours Ark Royal.
Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson were on board?
The flight was completely unmanned and there's no point wishing a robot good luck?
Is it anything to do with Felix Baumgartner's skydive from 127,000ft?
After the crew had jumped was the plane going to be deliberately crashed by remote control as some sort of test?
I? The four constituent countries/ provinces/ principalities of the UK - Scotland, England, Wales Northern Ireland?
Correct, you're lucky I didn't set a question yesterday when I still had five working brain cells. Your turn...
This is a guess, but is it Gus Fring?
