I recall that after finding the ship half-melded into an asteroid, they fitted the cloak to the Enterprise to get back out again, but can't recall if they later fired a torpedo at the asteroid. No chance of recalling the name of the episode, though.

The episode was titled "The Pegasus" after the starship Pegasus... Although it was a wrecked starship, Enterprise did not fire torpedos in that episode. You want to go back a little...

You said the Enterprise destroyed another vessel, rather than starship. Could we be after something smaller, such as a shuttlecraft?

Leaping synonymically from wreck to derelict, the Enterprise found a remarkably well-preserved Mr Scott adrift on a small vessel in the episode “Dyson Sphere”. Did they need to fire a torpedo at that vessel as part of their escape from the sphere?

Bingo - The Enterprise found the Lantree, Captain L. Isao Telaka commanding, after the Captain put out a distress call. By the time they had reached them, it was too late and so the Enterprise put the ship on quarantine and went back to the last place it visited. After finding out they were doing genetic research (something that should technically be banned under Federation Law), they cured the scientists before returning to the Lantree. Knowing it was too dangerous to salvage the ship, Enterprise drew up to close range and fired a single torpedo to scuttle the Lantree and therefore prevent an epidemic spreading.

Nope.

Will explain a little. There are four provinces in Ireland, Munster Ulster, Leinster and Connaght, each province has its own championship based on the 8 counties in each province. The winners of each province proceed into the All Ireland Semi Finals. The winners of these would then meet in the All Ireland Final.

It's because the games were played backwards, the All Ireland being played before the Munster title was decided. This was due to severe delays to matches between counties suffering from the foot and mouth outbreak at the time and the travel/quarantine restrictions being applied. Effectively only foot and mouth free counties could play matches to decide who played in the All Ireland.

It's one of those sporting oddities, like the Melbourne 1956 Olympics Equestrian events

Correct. there was effectively two Munster finals, Tipp couldn't play the originally scheduled final due to an outbreak of Foot and Mouth so Limerick, who Tipp were due to play in the semi, got a bye into the Munster final. Cork beat Limerick and progressed to win the all Ireland. Then in October the 'official' Munster final was player and Tipp beat Cork 5-4 – 2-5, it is this one that is recognised by the GAA.
