Amazing coincidence, that sounds like an interesting station, which one is it?

Your turn...

Radio Humberside

Thank you for the floor.

In Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Enterprise-D fires a single torpedo at another Federation vessel and destroys it - what was the episode and why did it do so?

They destroyed the spaceship because Darth Vader had used his sonic screwdriver to convince Captain Janeway that it was full of the hated Minbari. This happened in episode 73: Return of the Rise of the Revenge of the Cylons.

As I recall the Enterprise fired the torpedo at the USS Chocolate Starfish (a converted council gritter) in order to dislodge a Klingon that was adhering to its exhaust orifice. Unfortunately it missed its target and destroyed the Chocolate Starfish meaning that it could no longer be used to discharge the fleets waste materal and the the task had to be performed by the USS Colostomy instead.

The Federation turns on a particular ship because it contains the database of RailUK Forums and they're fed up with everyone focusing on a dump of a closed station on the Sussex coast.

Well stop asking nerd questions then.

Its my floor - I shall set whatever question I wish...

Answer is wrong - try again

That is an incorrect answer

Was it in the finalé, “All Good Things...”, where one of the three Enterprises is being pursued by the authorities? One of the three Picards looses a torpedo to get rid of the pursuers and get back to the task of dealing with the rift?

I like your thinking, but no - that is not it, though.

I will say that it is NOT the episode people might think of

Try again... You may get lucky

Is it the episode "Carry On Warping" in which space cadet Oskar Rhymal seizes control of the USS Kwizz on behalf of the New Earth Rebel Democracy?

No... Dale, if you don't actually take it seriously, I will have to resort to Mod arbitration

Your answer is incorrect - try again

Is it the episode where the Ferengi give back a Federation wreck that they have found, but have installed some modifications?

ps the wreck was one of Picard's old commands IIRC.

I see where you are coming from, that was "The Battle" and USS Stargazer from series 1, but its not the right answer.

Try again - you're not all *that* far away when you say a wreck

Right, I'll get these out of my system now. The Enterprise blasted the federation ship...

For the lulz.

Because the other spaceship spilled the Enterprise's pint.

Because Captain Picard was talking about roasting marshmallows over an open fire, but Worf only heard the words "open fire" and photon torpedoed them.

Because the other ship was called the USS Hitler Did Nothing Wrong.

Because the other ship had a mobile phone in its hand which Picard thought was a gun.

Because Picard was obsessed with Jodie Foster, and thought that shooting the other spaceship would impress her?

It's got to be one of those, surely?

The spaceship is not Ronald Reagan.

I reckon it's one of these:

a) Picard fired because the other spaceship felt that Labour hadn't been completely destroyed on Thursday as it had retained power in Wales (losing just one seat to the Tories' three), kept all 12 of its seats in London (the Tories lost 2) and retaining key councils like Nuneaton, Carlisle, Crawley, Harlow, Norwich, Hastings and Oxford.

b) Picard fired because the crew of the other ship wouldn't sing the national anthem.

c) Picard fired because there was this one guy on the crew of the other ship that wouldn't accept that Newhaven Marine had closed and it was starting to become beyond a joke.

d) Picard fired because he wanted to post the hashtag #JeSuisSpaceship on Twitter.

e) Picard fired because the capacity of the ship's blasters was too damn high.

f) Picard fired because it's all the fault of the BBC.

Just one of those.

Mod arbitration - will that involve Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend?

Ooooh, handbags at dawn.:D

There'll only be one handbag because I don't have one.

g) Picard fired because the other ship's captain didn't like Pacers.

h) Picard fired because there was an unexpected asteroid in the bagging area.

i) Picard fired because the other ship's captain only gave Powerpuff Girls: The Movie 5.5/10 stars on IMDb.

I know the answer. Picard tried to re-route engine power through the primary weapons and configure them to Melllvar's frequency, which should overload his electro-quantum structure. Like putting air in a balloon.

But it wasn't working. He was gaining strength from their weapons. Like a balloon and...something bad happens!
