Has a new conundrum yet been set, as I am somewhat confused by all the points of order and associated clarifications.
No answers were provided for those.

I have no status other than a normal contestant but I feel a clarification of matters is called for:-
1)....Posting # 4700 (10th October)...martinsh sets a cricketing question
2)...Posting # 4701 (11th October)...HMS Ark Royal submits an a posting answer.
3)...Posting # 4703 (11th October)...martinsh confirms the correctness of the posting answer of HMS Ark Royal
It is now 14th October and as per the rules, an extract of which I posted this week on this thread, makes reference to a time period of three days in which a new question should be set, so I feel that ComUtoR in the previous posting has indeed made a most valid posting.
I have only just retired from my role as Senior Adjudicator on "The next station is" quiz, so this is like old times all over again...:roll:

The trouble is there appears not be any active quizmasters for several threads. I tried sending pms to some but they were not delivered and I'm not sure if they are active members anymore.

I think people need to fundamentally bear in mind that these are forums - you cannot expect people to see things immediately, and need to be patient and allow time for them to respond when this is the case.
The rules say 72 hours and that sounds a reasonable time to wait. If you don't feel you can wait this long for some reason, and you are confident that someone has had adequate time to take a floor then I don't mind people taking the floor early. However, other people might mind, so be careful making that call!
ComUtoR answered DasLunatic's question above correctly, so has a good claim on the floor. If someone else wants to post a good question though, then I am sure they would not mind on this occasion. Edit: Aha, I see DaleCooper has now taken the floor!

My reading of the rules is that the 72 hour limit applies when waiting for a new question, the problem we have sometimes had is waiting a long time for responses (i.e. right or wrong) to answers for which there seems to be no time limit.

That is a more difficult problem. We could try and make a rule to force people to respond if they have set a question, but I don't like the idea of doing that because trying to enforce the rule would be a) difficult and b) disproportionate (this is the quizzes and games section!).
I think we need to expect to occasionally have to wait for people to return. However, if you think they have forgotten then no-one can blame you for nudging the thread, or sending them a reminder message. If you think more than enough time has passed then just continuing with a new question is always an option, particularly if there is consensus that someone has answered correctly - you'll soon hear if someone thinks you've made the wrong decision!

But I'm a sucker for all things English Electric from that era, so .....
2 January 1982 was the last Deltic-hauled railtour on BR metals, so I'll guess 0L01 was the last light engine move of 55022 Royal Scots Grey after arrival back at King's Cross - to Finsbury Park depot, perhaps?
I believe the occasion was covered by the TV news, hence one's gran got to know about it (not sure whether the light engine headcode would be reported on News At Ten though).

The date of the Deltic Scotsman Farewell. The train was 1F50 so I assume the light engine movement preceding it with 55 015 that was the back up in case of failure was 1L01.
