Which of these UK airports is the odd one out - and why ?

Birmingham
Gatwick
Manchester
Southampton
Southend

Birmingham - the airport moved it's main terminal to serve the station rather than the station being built to serve the terminal?

Birmingham, Gatwick, Manchester & Southampton Airports are owned by Airport holdings/Regional Authorities, but Southend Airport is owned wholly by a company not originally involved with air travel -the Stobart Group?

Which rail-related detective novel was published in Portugal under the title O Estranho Caso da Velha Curiosa? English title and author please!

My Portugese is a tad rusty but it translates, I think, as the Strange Case of the Curious Old Woman. I reckon that must be a Miss Marple mystery and the only rail related tale featuring her that I can think of is the 4:50 from Paddington.

As it has been 5 days since the question was posed and 4 days since Spamcan provided the correct answer. (Research indicates)
May I suggest that we hand the floor to him to set another question? If only to prevent this thread which is providing so much entertainment for so many, from dropping off the bottom of the forum and being closed.

Both johnnychips who set that last conundrum and Spamcan81 who provided the said answer have not visited this website for a number of days now.

Well I would suggest that one of the last three of you to comment fights it out to ask a question. I love this thread. I fancy myself as a valuable member to a quiz team but some of you guys know your stuff.

Just to keep matters on courtesy terms, I have sent a PM to one of our forum quizmasters in order that adjudication can be officially given.

I'm back. Sorry if that's caused problems regarding the quiz. If I may be so bold as to set the next question.
Name the four circuits to have hosted the British F1 Grand Prix.

Sincere apologies for not replying to Spamcam's correct answer: I thought I had, but I evidently hadn't and, as Paul surmised, I've been away.

Which song has the lyrics:

"Take a cruise to China or a train to Spain
Go round the world again and again"

and who were the performing artists?

Which contemporary author has written detective novels involving a fictitious setting based on Salisbury/Exeter, and what is the name of that setting?
