This is indeed a tricky one. The children's bedside prayer has the line that you quote above, with the exception of the first word being that of "Now" rather than "As"

The lyrics of the Sophie B Hawkins song seem to read..."As I lay me down to sleep" then followed by "This I pray", if my memory serves me right.

Indeed I remain perplexed.
