It is indeed. Allen, Beckford and Miller were prolific folly designers/builders in the eighteenth century. Wainhouse only built one - in the late nineteenth century on the outskirts of Halifax - but, as it's the tallest folly in the country, he deserves his place on the roll of honour. Had they all pooled their talents in a later era, they could have founded folliesrus.com. Your turn to decorate the landscape with useless, but romantic-looking, buildings.
