Got the right tournament now, and host nation Belgium actually ended up as the gold medallists after their opponents in the final tie walked off after 40 minutes.

No. The English/Scottish/Welsh/Irish FA's didn't enter individual teams, instead there was a Great Britain team (comprising only of England amateur players) that despite having won gold in 1908 and 1912, promptly got eliminated in the opening round of the 1920 tournament, by Norway! (Wasn't them, either!)

Is the correct answer. Walked off after 40 minutes, due in part to the English referee having given two somewhat dubious goals to the host nation Belgium.

The Czechoslovakian team officials protested, but their appeal was rejected, and the team disqualified.

Apparently the only major international final tie in the past 100 years to have been abandoned due to a team walking off the field.
