Correct - it was "The Ketchup Song" and was number 1 on the day I was born in 2002, 32 years after 1970

Must be a fair number of quite well known footballers who have sadly passed away in 2020.
For example, Harry Gregg, Norman Hunter, Peter Bonetti, Jack Charlton, Nobby Stiles, Ray Clemence, Tommy Docherty, and Diego Maradona.

Yes Jimmy Greaves is still alive.
I would have accepted all those you mentioned with the exception of Tommy Docherty who died in 2021.
He did work with John Cleese but I am looking for someone who worked with Basil in particular.

You are spot on sir, Geoffrey Palmer played a Doctor in Fawlty Towers who was more concerned his sausages didnt burn,
he cooked them himself in the hotel kitchen!
