I was going to suggest Simon and Garfunkel, but the solo clue threw me off there, and my Guinness Albums book is nearly two decades out of date.

We have a winner. His latest album has sales which have taken him above Elvis.

He also had a very clever sole distribution deal with Walmart which shifted millions of albums.

The only recording artist to have 6 diamond selling albums.
