However, I do remember that Ray Cathode was effectively a pseudonym of the BBC Radiophonics Workshop (The Dr Who theme tune people!) as that's who those two guys were!

Well I never. I've owned that record (after inheriting it from a friend of my father's when they got rid of their record player) for years, and I never ever made the Beatles connection with the "G Martin" co-credited. (I also got the sex of the Italian named person wrong as well!)
I have the 1962 ParloPhone edition FYI. In the same batch of records, I also acquired "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" by Lester Flatts & Earl Scruggs (chase music in Bonnie & Clyde) and the extraordinary "Click Song" by Miriam Makeba.

Anyway, I would feel an utter fraud claiming I'd got any part of that question correct, so I'll declare OPEN FLOOR!
