I stayed in Mannheim a few times quite a few years ago and the memory of the oddity finally surfaced.

What is a rumspringa?

I think it is of Dutch/German origin and is some sort of ritual for the Amish people. I think it's for young people but I'm not sure what. I remember it from the film "Witness"

Correct enough. In some Amish and Mennonite groups young aged 16 or 17 can leave for a period and go out into the wide world for a couple of years to a greater or lesser extent, after which they can return and fully adopt the sect’s behaviour if they wish.

To you to enlighten us with a new question.

Thank you. That makes sense in the context of the film, which is a very good one, by the way. The little boy in it, the "witness", is brilliant.

What is the UNESCO "world natural laboratory" located in the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago called?

Blimey, that was quick! Yes, correct. It is preserved as a laboratory to allow scientists to study undisturbed ecological succession and the colonisation of new land by plants, animals and fungi. I am almost exactly the same age as Surtsey.

Time for you to erupt out the next question!
