In what way is general everyday life different in Scotland compared to England? I ask as eventually my good lady wants to return north of the border, with me.
I'm up for a move north but the lack of decent warm weather in summer concerns me. However, in winter they get more snow than we so down here, so that would please me.
I would welcome better trains than we currently have in the North of England, and of course much of the scenery is amazing. I also find the people generally very friendly, and I love their chippies, although being diabetic now my visits would be limited.
What I think would be different to England is the lack of country pubs (compared to here), no real seaside resorts (although fortunately no Blackpool equivalents), ITV being STV, the devolved government, etc. I won't have any need for the education system, and hopefully the legal system.
