General Bad Weather Thread

Whats the weather like where you are? Still raining here, and nearby Louth has been severely affected by flooding.

Its still really windy here, has been raining all day, thankfully my street is slightly higher than some nearby areas so the drains are managing to keep it from flooding, for now at least!

The other Friday we had our worst flooding in 20 years, today the worst in living memory! 100mm (2 months worth) of rain in 1 day! It's absolutely ridiculous. The seasons seem to be completely messed up at the moment - April was the hottest on record, whereas June has been the wettest on record!

We've had, Rain, Sun and cloud. Havent seen any flooding at the moment, even though I live in an area caked in with rivers. If they burst, I can't get to school (YAY!), and I can't get anywhere!

Here in Banbury it's turned bad! It's been overcast all day then at 5 PM The Heavens opened! Also with VERY Strong gale force winds!

The rain has slowed a bit. The wind has strengthened a bit and it looks like where in the worse of it overnight! While watching BBC London this morning it looked like most o the country will of cleared of rain and wind by 03:00 tomorrow morning! So if you have to be up at 7 AM like me then you will get at least 4 hours sleep!

Lets see what happens tomorrow!

Worst weather I've experianced (since last tuesday when the SVR got ripped out too :cry and thats from someone who's been on the brecon beacons in a storm, and I will not be doing that anytime soon

I'm in east shropshire BTW.
All I can say is, thanks to bergarus for the gore-tex boots and peter storm for the stormtech jacket (cheaper version of gore-tex).

The situation is still very grim here. Apart from maybe Sheffield I think we've probably been the worst hit area. These pictures (first 5 galleries - note the ones further down are from the floods 10 days ago!) show the extent of the chaos:

Grimsby has has it bad today too - houses in the Willows estate are in 4 ft of water.

Thankfully Doncaster isn't too badly hit, although I hear there's flooding in Conisborough, Scawsby and Thorne. However apparently if this dam goes there will be chaos.

Last time the land became clogged up with bad people, God sent a flood. Somebody had better tell TomNick to get to high ground, we need somebody left to run RUK after TomB, Max and Yorkie get it

All trains on VT2 that go via East Coast cancelled north of Derby. 1346 Edinburgh also cancelled to Soton Ctl due to train fault.

Notice how it's all gone quiet? Northern section of RUK have all been washed away.

Not quite. There is 1 Northener left. Scunthorpe is on a hill, so we were alright. Shame about Grimsby and Hull which were on the beach.
