A cool £225 a head..... and we all know railtours don't count anyway!

...they do when they're the only thing left!

Just idle speculation on my part, but depending how quickly the OTMR fitment fund for 86101 grows (as reported elsewhere ACLG/Victa have held informal discussions as to use on its trains under the wires) this may be one of the last passenger uses of a 7. :(

Any ideas if this Saturday 4th's Edinburgh trip might be 87 hauled?

Cheers,

Cheers,

It's running to Prestonpans and then ECS to Craigentinny. Punters shoved on buses from the 'pans to Edinburgh. Reason being engineering work at Waverley has reduced platform capacity and only a very limited number of charters are allowed to set down (mainly the Royal Scotsman).

Subject to usual disclaimers, it should be (My) Lord(s) President. Headboard has been suggested to make an appearance... ;)

Latest update:

Both OOS at Wembley. 022 needing an E exam (looking v. likely it's game over for this one) and 028 with Low Power.

GBRf's new Royal Mail contract from October does require thunderbird locos, but there are no plans to keep on the 87s. No idea what new thunderbird locos will be, I'd guess EWS 90s but thats pure speculation - any other 100mph locos available?

55022 when it's fixed! That would get the veg out in their hundreds!

It's a shame if the 87s go off the mail, as that's their only real mainline outings ATM. 90s would just be boring because you can still see them on freight...:(

Think blue and based at Crewe.

On the 7 front, down to 1 class member now. 87022 was laid to rest earlier today.
