There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on the net regarding the service between Gdansk and Kaliniingrad. Does anyone know the actual timetable for next month ? (or where to find it)

From Table 1038 of the Thomas Cook Timetable:-

Train TLK55010/7

dep. Danzig Hbf @ 08:13 arr. Königsberg Hbf @ 16:07*

*runs May 28 to Oct 2: conveys through sleeper from Berlin

Does not show it running next month & neither does International Table 51. Try to get local information as the internet can sometimes be wrong.

PKP-IC website doesn't produce anything, bahn.de sends you halfway round the world and Seat61.com hasn't tried Kaliningrad yet....

Try posting your query in English on http://www.drehscheibe-foren.de/foren/list.php?30. The header should say ?[PL][RUS] Gdansk-Kaliningrad. You will almost certainly get a reply in reasonably English....

Cheers -the general advice seems to be to go by bus. I would prefer the train journey but info seems pretty sketchy. Some people have been on it and others have tried to travel on it only to find out it wasn't running.

Can you do train to Elblag and then bus?

Or even Braniewo, if PR will get you that far? (It won't, sorry, see this month's TREurope)

I think with the messing about getting the train to Elblag and finding where the bus stops there it may well be easier just to catch the bus from Gdansk.
