GCR Shunter Gala 18th - 19th February

Hi All

I have been checking the GCR's website for the past couple of weeks now and haven't seen an update in what will be working at this gala.

Does anyone on here know of anything?

Hopefully D2158, D3101 and D4067 should all be working. I don't think there's a visiting loco this year (last year 08629 visited for a similar event). Some of the smaller kettles such as the 3F and N2 might also be out.

Hi, info is on the website now + timetable.

Negotiations for another vehicle to compliment the other 3 locos 'are under way' Intensive services so promises to be a good day!? Ps nice to see the 101 get 3 return trips!

Hi, Thanks for the responses regarding this event, I have been informed that a Guest Loco won't be appearing now.

Ah, not to worry. Still plenty of photo opportunities i guess! hope it warms up a bit before next weekend tho, saw the Boiler Van thingy at Loughborugh being warmed up last Sunday, perhaps that will get some sort of use

Hi Dan, just looked at the GCR site & the Shunter Gala has been cancelled. However The 27 is running on Saturday & on Sunday the replacement is their class 20 & 31 top n tail, so not a bad replacement!? i make that 5 running trains with the 101 & 2 steamers? still makes for a good day out

Hey, Yeah I had realised, shame really but not to worry. I only need the 03 for haulage so might give it a miss and aim to get the East Coast drag in instead.
