Well me & fellow enthusiast visited this event yesterday. Alongside D123 & the Mcrat was steamer was 30777 Sir Lamiel, & as i arrived it was being used to heat up both sets of coaches from what i could see.
Also in use was the lovely dmu 101, of which 1 engine kept cutting out during the first trip. I was later told that they are close to restoring a 127 to bring some relief to what i believe is the GCR's only operational unit?
The Peak was reported to have failed as the 27 geared up for its first trip but seemingly after a quick pull & push by the resident shunter it came to life & thus joined the formation & off we went (a tad late!)
1 question tho, does the peak not have any ETH? very cold onboard (perhaps it takes more than one journey to heat up!? Anyway despite this & me walking into the loughborough station cafe early (to find it was pretty much reserved for the driver experience group) it was a good day, some pics below hope you enjoy them
