GC class 180 passing through Stratford 01/11

Hello all,

Was quite surprised yesterday to see a Grand Central 180 pass through Stratford. Looking at realtime trains, it was heading to Ilford. Any ideas why this might be?

I believe Ilford Depot has a wheel lathe, one of the very few (possibly the only one?) in or close to London, so can get various 'foreign' units calling there if they need attention.
