GC 180 @ Don P2 this evening

At about 1800.. it is rare enough to see anything in Doncaster platform 2 (except maybe the odd pacer) in my experience. But a GC 180 is unknown! Anyone know what was going on ?

Apologies RMT-driver, I can't answer your question, but to save starting a new thread for something very similar:

Whilst on my 185 from Cleethorpes to Manchester Picc on Monday afternoon, I spotted an empty Hull Trains 180 in the southbound bay platform at Doncaster, at around 14:40.

Does anyone know why it would've been there? I could see one or two members of staff stood near the very rear carriage, with a lady, presumably a driver at the extreme front on the phone to the signaller, probably requesting a path somewhere. Both the 09:48 & 11:48 ex KGX ran throughout to Hull, not terminating at Doncaster, so that theory has gone out of the window.

Something along these lines happened the other week when I was at Donny, first the platform for the GC service to London (from Bradford) was altered to platform 2 - odd but I presumed the train must've been running late and was to be turned back at Doncaster, but no - the 180 came from the north, ran through platform 1, then reversed into platform 2, I then left so I'm unsure what happened next or why this happened, or indeed if there were any passengers on board!

It ran to Doncaster extremely early due to a points failure near Pontefract, it went via Hare Park so the signaller wanted it out of the way.
