I heard on here years ago that RTT uses fake headcodes for freight for some undisclosed reason. But I noticed a few days ago (probably been happening for a while) that GBRF are using the real headcodes. Of note 6H10 Bletchley to Peak Forest shows up correctly. Then I checked other GBRF workings and they also show the correct headcodes.

If GBRF are doing it, were they exempt from the reason or sign something and why do the other FOC's not follow suit. Just a curiosity question really. Other FOC's use fake ones or FRGT.

thanks.

As far as I am aware, GBRf specially asked Network Rail not to scramble their headcodes because
they issue their staff with tablets which they use to track the progress of trains using RTT because
it is tens of thousands of pounds cheaper than paying for access to 'official' systems such as
Genius mobile! o_O

A bit cheeky in my opinion using a 'not for profit' open data website to circumvent the need
to pay the going rate to use an official one, but there you go!!
