Rumour has it that GBRF's new owners (Eurotunnel) are looking to move out of Tonbridge West Yard (Adjacent to Tonbridge Station In Kent) ASAP. They are understood to be looking at 3 possible sites. These being

Three Bridges 'Up' Yard on the Brighton - London main line.

Hoo Junction Yard (Occupied by DB Schenker) in Kent

Paddock Wood Yard again in Kent.

Just a rumour as I said. Anyone have an opinion on this at all?

Tonbridge is a nice hub for GB's engineering trains and allthough its not my area, I have heard no news about moving from there. Eurotunnel maybe GBRF's new owner, but that sort of decision would be taken by GB themselfs I would have thought?

GB already operate out of Hoo anyway.

Also, Paddock Wood is not a yard, the sidings that link onto the Paddock Wood - Strood (Medway Valley) line belong to Transfesa. I understand the Transfesa terminal burned down in 2005, I moved out of the area in 1994 btw, but they are in the process, if not completed, of building a new terminal to replace the destroyed one.

Isn't Three Bridges Up yard already earmarked for Thameslink's new depot? Or is there room for other stuff as well?

Apologirs for not answering sooner. Joys of shift work etc. Three Bridges is earmarked for Thameslink as you rightly say, however the yard is quite large, but can I honestley see a FOC and a TOC sharing together????? No not really.
