As of 22nd May, 701006 starts running as the first GBR Liveried SWR 701. This thread is to share images and updates of this unit and others as the livery is slowly transitioned over the network.

Was just looking at the allocations - surprised they are sending it out immediately as I thought there would be some "1 year nationalisation" anniversary event where they unveil it

I believe there is some sort of event at WAT which is why it is pathed early and sits for a couple of hours before its first service. I may be wrong, but I have heard rumblings.

Would make sense I suppose to get it done before the bank holiday 8-)

Looks OK on the end car (the angle of the "flash" matches that of the cab front) but no-one is showing the effect of the whole train from the side, nor have we seen a clear view of how it will work on units with an odd number of cars (which includes all IEPs) or on, for example, Chiltern's Class 68s.

Or even 701s as 5 cars. Though it may be some time before anybody needs to worry about that.
