Interested to see this unit at Eastleigh Depot over the last few months. Not seen it move at all, but what is its purpose does it work a policing capacity ?

A number of the 69s gained unusual liveries. I think this one is more to promote / recognise the British Transport Police (as their number 61016 is obviously close to 69016) rather than to have any particular policing role.

The 69s aren't really needed at present, so have been somewhat relegated to yard work.
