Gatwick Airport today released an image of the planned redevelopment of the station as part of the Gatwick Gateway project. In the image the footprint of the station is much wider than current with 4 escalators wide on each platform and still oodles of room. There are 8 platforms with what looks like an additional non platform facing through line between platforms 1 and 2 on the image (platforms 6 and 7 today).... and all completed by 2019!
