Gatwick Airport station redevelopment

New images have been released of Gatwick Airport's proposed station redevelopment to coincide with an announcement that all the funding now being secured.

I thought somebody had mentioned one of the objectives of the new station was to spread people along the platforms more. These images seem to suggest they are still going to send everybody to the middle of the platform.

I suppose that's the idea. But with tram-like deep windows/skirts, and only three car.

Actually, the 3-car bit may well have been taken from First Group's losing Thameslink bid.....

Very bad renditions, looks more like a stadler DMU than a desiro city, although they have made an effort to get it into something resembling the TSGN livery. They also seem to have taken the bold step of de-electrifying the station!
