Gare Du Lyon/Austerlitz during the Olympics

I am leaving Paris on the 18th July from Gare Du Lyon but that is the day the restrictions start. I don't think that will cause me any issues as I am staying that side of the bridge, but on the way back I arrive at Austerlitz and it is slap bang on the middle of the restrictive zone. Does anybody know what the practical implementations are of this? I will obviously have a lot of luggage with me, and I am starting to think this trip is going to be too much hassle

Which specific restrictions concern you? What are you hoping to do in Paris?

I had planned to have a nice long scroll around the Seine weather permitting but I think I can still do that on the 17th. It is more my return journey but I don't think it will be an issue as my research suggests the station and metro will be open as normal. I am just a very anxious traveller but it is the only time I can go .

I can see nothing here that would stop you moving about on foot or by public transport on your return date, which I think from your other thread is a couple of days before the opening ceremony.

Carrying heavy baggage might get you stopped I suppose, and you need ID anyway.

Is it walking through the grey zones, 'SILT', protection around event sites, where you need a QR code permit matching photo ID you are concerned about? Ignore red zones, they are vehicle bans not pedestrians.

Gare d'Austerlitz is not in the grey zones, looking at the maps. Between Gare de Lyon and the river is in the grey zone for the opening ceremony but not after. The embankments are but the maps suggest you can still walk across Pont Charles de Gaulle.

From what I have seen in the news, if you are staying in a genuine hotel in a SILT you can get a QR code but it must be done in advance.

From the page linked in the previous post:

The Austerlitz station is within the red perimeter: its pedestrian access will be maintained, and bus and cab access will be provided on an exceptional basis.
Gare de Lyon is not affected, as it is not within the perimeter.

Looks like you can still walk to Gare d'Austerlitz, I'd imagine carrying luggage to take a long-distance journey wouldn't look too out of the ordinary.

Last time I was in Paris at a time of heightened security, they searched my rucksack but didn't bother looking in the suitcase.
