Hi,
Does anyone know if the line bettween Gainsborough Lee Road and Doncaster is closed on Sundays or if it is just that no services use that section of track on Sundays?

Live Train Times doesn't show any trains routed that way on a Sunday. The only trains shown going through Gainsborough Lea Road on a Sunday are the Lincoln -Sheffield and beyond passenger trains. Presumably the signal box at Beckingham is normally closed on Sundays unless it is open just in case anything has to be diverted that way. Obviously the line is open on a Sunday when GN main line is closed and ECML services are diverted via Lincoln.

The East Midlands Railway franchise had it planned for a Sunday service - who knows if it will ever happen.

As far as I am aware closed on Sundays, outside of diversions (either whole line to cover for ECML or sometimes if Scunthorpe shut and freight being diverted through Brigg and Gainsborough). My street backs on to it near Finningley

The line has very recently become staffed 24/7 in preparation for it being able to be used for more services, but as yet nothing is in the working timetable for Sundays.

There was also meant to be more weekday services, the train-crew are in place but whether the services ever materialise is another question.
