That sounds like a guess.

North was always defined as Colchester, Clacton, Ipswich and Norwich unless they have changed it. If you are in Colchester apply would be my advice.

They mentioned Norwich, I did mine in Jan/Feb also. Are you for the GEML or WA?

Eventually yes, but the time duration is not fixed, its based on seniority, so the more mainline drivers retire/quit etc the quicker you will go up for mainline training. One thing I will say, is don't expect it to be quick, you'll be a DD for a fair old while before going mainline.

That's not necessarily true, some ppl have been in the depot for nine months before mainline training, others have had to wait 5 years. The average is around 2-3 years.

yeah well depends on your interpretation of a fair old while =D At Ilford I think the longest in recent times someone has been a DD is about 4.5 years, whilst the shortest is a few months. I've been passed out for about 1.5 years now, and am still looking at another year at the very least before I go up. Crossrail is a huge question mark as nobody knows what will happen to Depot Drivers in general.
