Only the livery that's changed. OOU anyway as one of the 37s is knackered & no back up.

I managed to ride in both sets on Wednesday & was surprised to see 2 x37's on the BR Blue & Grey set.
I thought that at least one of the sets should be using a DBSO & just one loco.

Would be interesting to see a DBSO in the region again. I'm still confused where most of them are, as various reports say DRS has 5 or 6 but they only seem to use 2 on the Cumbrian coast?

9705 is at Norwich but had issues in service & replaced with a standard brake vehicle. Even when it was in traffic it was not used in TDM mode even though many of us would only need a referesher to drive them again.

Yup, dk1 is on the money. They only used them as brake vehicles so as to not need any additional driver training.

Currently 3 sets of mk2s around (or at least there were when I was on depot Wednesday). The blue/greys, anglia and DRS. Whether they're all sticking around long term or one is just there covering maintenance I don't know.

Still OOU today with a 153 on the usual 37 diagram & what looked like a trainee being shown the delights of driving a dogbox. Along with a guard being shadowed by what also looked like a trainee conductor it amounted to 4 traincrew on board a single 153! Don't let Mr Wilkinson get wind of it....

Haven't had the joys of an AGA 153 for some time - they really do need a heavy refurb.
They make London Midland's look like the pullman.

When I used both of them I found it amusing that

You had the old 37 locos (amazing sounding though) pulling Anglia liveried coaches that had been given a light refurbishment inside#

WHILST

You had the new class 68 loco hauling DRS carriages that had been fully repainted outside but inside were untouched from what they were 20 years ago.

You may find that guards are travelling pass too as Conductor Managers are being shadowed by various other managerial grades in readiness for any strike action. We also have many drivers in training too & the more things that irritate the hell out of Wilkinson the better in my opinion.
