GA F&F Op Rtn Route Validity

Which routes are valid on this ticket? A friend and I are going to be travelling from Norwich to London via Ipswich, then plan to return via Ely. I plan to take the GA service back to Norwich, and my friend will be ending short and travelling to King's Lynn.

The route on the ticket says "Greater Ang Only", so presumably any permitted. The restriction code is 1C, which seems kind if ambiguous and doesn't specify much beyond time restrictions. AIUI, the normal NRW to LON SVR ticket allows this alternative route.

Any help much appreciated.

London to Norwich is valid via Ely, yes.

If you are asking if a ticket between London and Norwich routed via GA only would be valid for travel between London and Ely on GA, then yes.

NRW to LST GFF ticket. Trainline/GA app is telling me that starting short, ending short, or breaking the journey is not permitted, but this goes against what I have been told previously, so I assumed it may have other restrictions.

It seems that Trainline is lying? BRFares doesn't specify any BoJ restrictions.

I wouldn't jump to saying it's lying, but any break of journey restrictions would have to be communicated either in the restriction code or in the ticket-type-level description/details.

Certainly there are no break of journey restrictions shown under the applicable restrictions code (1C).

You can use any permitted route unless otherwise indicated in the route field.

In this case the ticket is routed "GA only" so you can use any permitted route whilst sticking to GA trains.

I am not fussed either way because my friend won't be leaving the station at Ely, instead changing onto GN with a new ticket.

In practice they will be almost certainly be fine doing so regardless of any break of journey restrictions. If there are any questions about it, it might be for not scanning in at the Ely barriers, if they buy an eTicket for their onward journey.
