Hey all,
I was passing through London Liverpool Street Station on Saturday morning and caught a glimpse of a refurbished class 315 arriving on the West Anglia side of the station.
I was in a rush to get to Paddington so I was unable to have a proper look at it.
The digital destination screen looked really smart but as I said I didn't have time to have a proper look at it.
Just wondered if anyone has any photos or videos of a refurbished 315. Also if anyone know how many units have been refurbished so far and if all of them are getting done.

Thanks in advance

They look identical almost to all other 315,s excpet they have one PIS display midway through each coach, scrolling destination displays above the cab, and a wheelchair area/CFA system fitted in the PTS coach I think. They look quite smart on the outside I think with the new paint job and destination displays.
thats the inside:

Also I think about a third of them are being done? Not all of them thats for sure. I know there are issues at present with the PIS system itself, but they are at least getting repainted and having the wheelchair area fitted.

I know and if they come to the Cardiff Valleys like that I think there will be a few complaints from those who dont like pink

Blame National Express for the choice of colour(s) inside.

Adding a screen and station announcements seems like a good move. I hope they're now programmed to point out that Oyster cards are not valid beyond Broxbourne, instead of Enfield Lock as on some other services!

The pink looks bloody awful!
Certainly, that shade of salmon(?) pink does nothing to improve the look of the train - it's disgusting.
Blame National Express for the choice of colour(s) inside.
Not all of their colour schemes have been bad, but they've never been one for subtle colours (eg ONE etc).

The PIS has been changed on the 317, 321 & 360 fleet to say 'please ensure you have the correct ticket for your journey', rather than the Oyster validation points. Not sure what it says on the 315's as I've not been on one that's got the new system, but I'd imagine its the same as the others.

Not on all services yet. Parents were on a train from Stratford last week that said Enfield Lock as the Oyster boundary.

I guess it would have been a 317.

Seems some in the welsh government are not happy about the prospect of the Cadiff Valley Lines getting class 315's.

Neither am I too be honest I think class 323's would be much better with them having
23m carriages.

If the welsh government has enough money how about phoning Bombardier for some 3 carriage 377's or something similar

The 315's would look very nice inside if given the same treatment as the 321/4's with they grey and red scheme. The poles on the luggage racks have been painted red, how about the rest of them now?

Over there
I've noticed that a couple of the 315s have been painted and had the luggage rack poles painted and wheelchair space fitted but not PIS/digital destination screen fitted.

Also, On the PTSO there's some sort of vent (Allows water to drain out of the panto well?) where underneath gets filthy! Which looks absolute beautiful on a plain white livery...NOT!

Well the 315's will require fitment of an acessible toilet before they are used on the Cardiff Valley Lines if they do.
